Power of Attorney and Mandate of Protection

A power of attorney or a mandate of protection identifies the person who will be responsible for taking care of your real estate and assets and occasionally to make decisions on your behalf in the case of an illness, an extended absence (travel) or other such situations.  This person, called the mandatary in civil law, will act on your behalf in certain circumstances.

Whether general or intended to apply in case of incapacity, a power of attorney obviously has consequences and must be perfectly understood.  Based on their extensive experience, the notaries at Morris & Dupuis are well able to advise you in these delicate legal procedures.
